Rochester 5th Ward Information

In an attempt to close the gap between city government and its citizens, especially those I represent in Rochester's Fifth Ward, I will try to provide timely updates on issues and concerns that are under consideration for council action as well as any specific concerns you bring to my attention.

Good News for 11th Ave NE Drivers

Some good news for all of you who use 11th Ave NE. We are going to replace the fixed-time traffic signals on 14th Street, 7th Street, and Center Street with semi-activated signals. Semi-activated signals have detection for vehicles on the minor street, and pushbuttons for pedestrians wishing to cross the major street.

Semi-activated signals remain green for the major street, and only go red on the major street when there is a need to service a vehicle or pedestrian.

This should provide improved operation and decreased delay for all who travel in the area. This is something a number of you have requested for some time.

Now that the roads are getting fixed, what about the sidewalks? There are places in the Kellogg, Silver Lake, and Jefferson neighborhoods that I can't get my daughter's stroller over the bumps where the sidewalks have heaved. Keep up the great work Bob, Thank you.
