'Tis the Season
I was successful in getting two projects on the way that I'd been concerned about for some time -- a pedestrian/bike path from Century HS along CR22 to connect to the path at the Townhomes. Should be in yet this fall. Also have been asking for help from the area residents via a petition to help me keep funds in the CIP for a small section between 16th Ave NE and Alberta Dr. This will then complete the walk from Broadway to Century HS.
The second bit of happy news is that the county/city will install a pedestrian operated flashing yellow caution light indicating a pedestrian in the crosswalk at the entrance to Parkwood Hills from Viola Rd. YOu need to stop if you see this -- it's the law. We hope this will help those who need to cross busy Viola to get to the bus stop or bike path do it more safely.
The candidate forums have begun. Last Tuesday evening the Rochester Area Builders held their annual member's meeting. They posed 6 questions for us to reply to that were of special interest to their membership. I think I answered them well and if any of you are interested in the questions and my responses let me know - I have typed notes I prepared ahead of time.
There are several forums coming up in the next few weeks. They were listed in the PB but here they are again. I suggest that you try to attend one if you can.
Tuesday October 3rd at 12:15 PM - Sponsored by the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce at the International Event Center (call Chamber for reservations).
Tuesday October 10th at 7:00 PM - Sponsored by the Izaak Walton League, Zumbro Valley Land Conservancy, Audibon Society at the Izaak Walton League Cabin 937 7th Ave NE
Wednesday October 12th at 7:00 PM - Sponsored by Rochester Chapter of NAACP at Rochester Public Library
Tuesday October 24th at 7:00 PM - Sponsored by the League of Women Voters at the Heinz Center RCTC
Of course, I will entertain your questions at any time -- just call, reply to this blog, or send me an e-mail. OR, best yet! Join me at Grandmas Kitchen on Fridays from 7 to 8:30 -- I buy the coffee, you bring the problems!
Bob
